Had a fantastic lunch before getting on the ferry home. A small selection of main dishes at lunch time, but all delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We went to this delightful place for lunch as it caught our eye with its lovely clean and open interior. The person serving us spoke impeccable English, has a great sense of humour and made us welcomed from the word go. The food was excellent and definitely memorable dining experience.

I ate here in Le Comptoir de Halles during fieldwork for a chapter in my book on travel writing. I went to find the statue to Professor Roland Barthes, who was born in Cherbourg. The food and service in the café area were excellent, and I could look out on Barthes and the library.

We had missed the plat de jour but the owner was so accommodating. He managed to rustle up our lunch from the deli. Well recommended.

We found Comptoir Des Halles one morning and told Xavier what we wanted and he had his employee fix us the best eggs we have ever eaten. We did this again the next morning...delicious again. I am not sure the store was truly open yet either morning, but he was extremely kind to us, gracious, and speaks wonderful English so we had great conversation with him. We appreciate how he treated us greatly!Visited in June 2019

We tried the Sunday brunch with our family and loved it. The all-you-can-eat buffet is extremely good, varied with local products. There is something for everyone. Our two children, aged 1 and 6, really enjoyed themselves and we had a great time as a family. The staff is also very attentive and kind, everything was planned for our children upon our arrival, which we particularly appreciated. A big thank you to the whole team!
